Friendship Peak Trek, Manali

Duration of Tour:- 3 Nights 4 Days

Day 1: Arrival in Manali & Drive to Solang Valley

You’ll begin your journey by arriving in Manali, which is well-connected by road and air. Once you arrive, head to the base of the trek, which is Solang Valley, located about 13–15 km from Manali. You’ll either be transferred directly from Manali or make your way there on your own. Solang Valley is known for its adventure sports and beautiful alpine scenery, making it the perfect starting point for your trek. Upon arrival, you can spend some time resting and acclimatizing to the altitude. If you’re feeling up to it, you can explore the surroundings or try some local food. Overnight stay at a campsite or guesthouse in Solang Valley to get a good rest before the trek begins.

Day 2: Solang Valley to Base Camp (Base of Friendship Peak)

On the second day, your trek begins from Solang Valley. After breakfast, start the trek towards the Friendship Peak Base Camp. The first part of the trek is relatively easy and involves walking through forests of oak and pine, alpine meadows, and small streams. As you gradually gain altitude, the scenery transforms, and you’ll start to get stunning views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks.

The trek to Base Camp takes around 4-5 hours and is not too difficult, making it a good day for acclimatization. Once you reach the base camp, you’ll set up camp and relax for the night. The campsite offers amazing views, and you’ll feel closer to nature.

Day 3: Base Camp to Summit & Return to Base Camp

This is the highlight of the trek, as you’ll summit Friendship Peak. You’ll start early in the morning from the Base Camp, as the trek to the summit is challenging and will take most of the day. The climb to the top involves crossing rocky terrain, ice, and snow patches, so having the right gear and being mentally prepared is key. As you ascend, the views become even more spectacular, with the Dhauladhar Range, Pir Panjal Range, and Manali Valley stretching out before you. Reaching the summit of Friendship Peak at 5,290 meters is a truly rewarding experience. You’ll have 360-degree panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, and the sight of the vast snow-covered landscape is unforgettable. After spending some time at the summit, you’ll descend back to the Base Camp. The descent can be a bit tricky due to the steepness, so take it slow. Once back at the base camp, you can relax and enjoy a hearty meal.

Day 4: Base Camp to Solang Valley & Departure

On the final day of the trek, you’ll begin your descent back to Solang Valley after breakfast. The trek will take around 4-5 hours, and you’ll pass through similar scenic landscapes as you did on the way up. Once you reach Solang Valley, you’ll have some time to freshen up and relax before making your way back to Manali. From Solang Valley, you can either take a taxi or a bus back to Manali. You’ll reach Manali in the afternoon or evening, depending on the mode of transport, and then you can proceed with your onward journey.
