Patalsu Peak Trek in Manali

Duration of Tour:- 3 Nights 4 Days

Day 1: Arrival in Manali & Drive to the Trek Base (Solang Valley)

When you arrive in Manali, either by bus, car, or flight, the first step is to check into your accommodation and get ready for the trek ahead. The base for the trek is in Solang Valley, located about 13-15 kilometers away from the heart of Manali. Solang is a beautiful valley surrounded by stunning snow-capped peaks, lush greenery, and alpine meadows. After reaching the valley, you can take it easy for the day—explore the area, enjoy the crisp air, or do a little shopping. You’ll stay overnight here in a camp or guesthouse to rest up for the trek.

Day 2: Solang Valley to Patalsu Base Camp

On the second day, you’ll begin your trek from Solang Valley. The start is relatively easy, and you'll walk through forests, apple orchards, and small village paths. The views are already breathtaking, with the towering mountains around you and the air getting thinner as you ascend. As you gain elevation, the trail will become steeper, but the surroundings are incredibly rewarding, especially when you pass through beautiful alpine meadows filled with vibrant wildflowers. By evening, you'll reach the Patalsu Base Camp. This is the place where you’ll set up camp, rest, and take in a majestic sunset.

Day 3: Summit to Patalsu Peak & Return to Base Camp

On the third day, you’ll begin the summit push early in the morning. The trek to Patalsu Peak, standing at 4,220 meters (13,850 feet), is tough but incredibly satisfying. The altitude will make it a bit challenging, so it's important to pace yourself and take short breaks as needed. The view from the summit is one of the best parts of the trek, with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including the Dhauladhar Range, Pir Panjal Range, and Rohtang Pass. After spending some time soaking in the views, you’ll make your way back down to the base camp, which will take a few hours. Descending is easier, but you should still be careful with your footing. After reaching the base camp, relax, enjoy your well-deserved meal, and spend the night camping under the stars.

Day 4: Return to Solang Valley & Departure

On the final day, you’ll begin your descent back to Solang Valley after breakfast. The trek back to Solang should take around 4-5 hours, and it’s a much more relaxed pace compared to the ascent. Once you return to Solang Valley, you have a few options: you can head back to Manali and prepare for your onward journey or spend the afternoon exploring some local spots. Solang offers adventure activities like paragliding and a visit to the Solang Ropeway, which gives you great views of the valley. In the evening, you’ll make your way back to Manali to catch your bus or flight home.
